Indeed Forgiveness is not about others but ourselves. Forgiveness gives us peace. It's good to see that things like this didn't break us but showed us who and what we could become. Healing is not always easy but it's possible and I'm glad you're on that part.
This just reminds me of a story of myself I wanted to share here but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Rebirth the world is yet to experience your force! Thank you for this piece

This is my first time reading your letter Rebirth, scrolling through your status and then this kept drawing me to read.
I can relate, definitely. Truth be told, I am now relaxed that healing doesn’t have to happen immediately, and no, not forgiving immediately doesn’t make me wicked, unpleasant and less of a good person. It just takes these times cause that person that hurt was a “friend” not a stranger.
Mine was just last year, and if you can completely heal and be free, then I can too and I would wait the time, no rushing, no pressure, no pretense. I will heal.
Your comment really touched me… thank you for reading, truly. You’re so right, healing takes time. There’s no medal for who forgives first or forgets faster. Especially when the wound came from someone who was close… someone who should’ve known better. That kind of hurt is a different kind. There’s no rush, no pressure. Just grace. I love that you’re giving yourself the grace to take your time.
And yes, you will heal. No pretense, No shame, Just your pace, your way, your time.
