Hello people of my Laive! Welcome back to our writing channel. I'm super excited about today's letter because it's the first episode of our new series "The Hearty Conversation".

Today I'm with someone whose life is an inspiration to many. I admire him a lot because of how bold and intentional he is about his salvation. Seeing Young people go loud about God gives me joy and motivates me to do better. 

Before I bring up our guest, let's talk a little about the topic before us. "CHALLENGES YOUNG CHRISTIANS FACE IN BUILDING A CONSISTENT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM”

As a young Christian, cultivating a deep and consistent relationship with God can be a daunting task. Despite your passion and dedication, many young believers encounter various challenges that hinder their spiritual growth and consistency.

Today we'll highlight some common challenges facing young Christians in building a consistent relationship with God.

CHALLENGES:

1. BUSY SCHEDULES: Balancing school, work, social life, and other responsibilities can leave little time for spiritual nurturing.

2. SOCIAL PRESSURES: Peer influence, social media, and cultural norms can distract from spiritual priorities.

3. SELF-DOUBT: Feelings of inadequacy, guilt, and shame can make young Christians question their faith and connection with God.

4. LACK OF SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES: Neglecting practices like prayer, Bible study, and meditation can lead to spiritual stagnation.

5. SPIRITUAL DRYNESS: Experiencing a sense of disconnection or dryness in their spiritual lives can lead to frustration and discouragement.

Before we talk about ways to deal with this challenges, I want to welcome our guest for today who will be sharing some of his experiences with us.

BIO:

My name is Ayomide Adetoro. I’m a Minister of the Lord, through my sounds and words, one sent to draw men out of darkness into the light of God. I’m a graduate of Evangel University Akaeze and I studied Computer Science (2nd Class Upper). I’m the first child of my family. I’m also a professional Graphic Designer and Christian Content Creator. I’ve released a number of songs which can be streamed on all musical platforms and some videos on YouTube. I’m also the Convener of the move JESUS MUST BE SEEN.

HOW DID YOU FIRST COME TO KNOW ABOUT JESUS CHRIST ?

I grew up in a Christian home, it was just the normal routine for me. Morning devotion, night prayer before sleeping, church on Sunday and so on. I really didn’t know Jesus for myself. My mum is a prayerful woman, who prays for us every night while we just lay down and sleep off. She prayed till a point came where something transferred inside me and I started praying at night. After my secondary school, I had plans to go to Unilorin to study computer science. Never knew God didn’t plan that for me, He wanted me to go somewhere else. So after a year and half in Ilorin studying physics education (not computer science that I really wanted)..Long story short,.I failed and left the school. 

I was depressed and tired of living. I wanted to end my life; One night in my bathroom where I was crying and shouting at God with a sniper in my hand about to drink it and die. I remember my words vividly. I said “what do you want from me, I’m tired. What do you want from me?"

I didn’t know who I was talking to, But I heard a voice so loud and clear, it said to me: “Ayo, if you have me, you have everything”

HAS YOUR VIEW OF GOD CHANGED OVER THE COURSE OF YOUR CHRISTIAN JOURNEY ?

Yes, I now know Him more and see Him as a loving father and friend.

TELL US SOMETHING PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH TEMPTATIONS AS A HANDSOME YOUNG CHRISTIAN, HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO STAY FOCUSED?

Set boundaries, that’s what I do. I get a lot of compliments and attention from ladies and it’s really uncomfortable sometimes. But I know something for sure, “I’m guarding something that is not just for me, but for my generation . I can’t trade it for anything. 

HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO BALANCE YOUR WORK LIFE AND BEING A CHRISTIAN AT THE SAME TIME?

The Bible says in Proverbs “seest thou a man diligent in his work, he shall stand before kings and not ordinary men. When it’s time to work I give work my attention and Improve myself. Don’t work when you’re meant to pray and don’t pray when you’re meant to work. But me I pray as I’m working ooh😂

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST PROFOUND OR INSPIRING EXPERIENCE OF YOUR CHRISTIAN JOURNEY?

I’ll say my encounters are beautiful experiences. Beyond what God can do with me and through me, I cherish the encounters with Him. It Keeps me craving for Him more.

AS THE CONVENER of JESUS MUST BE SEEN! WHAT INSPIRED THE MOVEMENT?

It was an instruction from God. Last year, in 2023, He instructed me to go out and raise a banner in the month of October. I didn’t go at first, but in the last week of that month, I did and made a video of myself (someone helped me) . I got back home, edited it and posted. I then slept off and woke up to tons of notifications. It has trended. And then God spoke to me and said the whole world will raise my banner and you will head this move. I laughed 😂 cause how shall it be? But then, look at it. Today it’s happening. We had the first edition in January and the next movement coming up in August. 

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY MISSION OF JMBS?

As the name implies, For JESUS TO BE SEEN. Soul winning, healings on the street and everywhere. Bringing men out of darkness into light .

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE IN LIVING OUT YOUR FAITH AS A YOUNG CHRISTIAN IN THIS PRESENT GENERATION?

We live in a generation where young people see other young ones as old school when going to church and serving Jesus. The abnormal is now the normal and the normal now abnormal. I used to be shy to show that I’m a child of God but now, NEVER!!

IF YOU HAD TO PICK A THEME SONG FOR YOUR CHRISTIAN JOURNEY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It will have to be, New wine by hillsongs.

AS A MUSIC MINISTER AND SONGWRITER, WHAT SHOULD WE BE EXPECTING FROM YOU THIS YEAR, ANY NEW SONG COMING UP?

Yes, expect 2 songs. Oil on my head & Holy Ghost.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER YOUNGER BELIEVERS STRUGGLING WITH STAYING TRUE TO THEIR BELIEFS IN THIS GENERATION?

Don’t waste time, you are not weak, the devil is not so strong. Step out of that struggle by the help of the Holy Ghost and step up . Your generation is waiting for you.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS YOUTHS CAN DEAL WITH THESE CHALLENGES?

1. PRIORITIZE TIME WITH GOD: Schedule regular time for prayer, Bible study, and reflection.

2. FIND COMMUNITY: Join a youth group, Bible study, or accountability partner for support and encouragement.

3. SEEK GUIDANCE: Talk to a mentor, pastor, or counselor about struggles and doubts.

4. PRACTICE SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES: Engage in activities that foster spiritual growth, like journaling or serving others.

5. PERSEVERE: Trust that spiritual dryness is temporary, and continue seeking God with persistence and patience.
