I have been fighting the urge to run away from you people, but I said no. I will write to you, and let the devil be ashamed. So here I am again after a week of ghosting you, but trust me, it wasn't intentional. I had a lot going on, so I needed to concentrate.
Hello, People of My Laive, it's your Fayvorite girl again (if I am not, then we have a score to settle).
Today I don't have much to tell you, but I want to talk about Rio's latest behavior. If you are new here, "Rio" is my cat. Check out this link to read about Rio 👇👇👇
Rio is all grown up now, very clingy, and I think we are in love because, tell me, why does Rio only respond to my voice and my voice alone?
I brought Rio to the house last weekend because I wasn't going to be active at the store and I needed to rest after our youth day in church.
On Monday night, I came out to have dinner after a long day of sleeping. I forgot Rio was in the house. Immediately he heard my voice, he came close to say hello to Mama (me) and playfully rubbed his body against my legs to say I miss you, Mama. Did you know my mom tried the same thing with Rio? My cat looked at her and walked away. Rio shenked Big mummy, #sorryforthelaugh
My mom was like, Oh, because I no be your mama, abi? No problem.
Fast forward to Tuesday. I left the house to go to the shop, but I didn't carry Rio along with me. I was at the shop when my mom called me to ask if I carried Rio. I said no. She said since I left, they haven't seen Rio in the house, and they've searched everywhere; they've called his name. There was no sign of Rio anywhere.
Was I worried? Kinda, but I was like, since the doors were locked, he will be inside.
I got home, and I called his name, "Hi, Baby Rio! Where are you?" dear person of my Laive, Rio, came out of hiding. The same Rio that they've been looking for since morning.
I'm driving somewhere; please stay with me.
ON LESSONS:
I kinda picked a few things from his behavior and said to write about it.
Rio's behavior reflects loyalty and trust. Such as the loyalty of Ruth to Naomi and the trust of David in God's protection (read Psalm 63 for a better understanding of my last point).
Just as Rio finds security and comfort in my presence, we can find strength and solace in our relationship with God. By trusting in Him and remaining loyal to His teachings. We can experience the peace and reassurance that come from knowing we are loved and protected. When you feel overwhelmed, instead of running to places or people, you can find peace in the loving arms of Abba. Be rest assured that He holds the answer to all your problems and troubles. He alone offers a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding.
Rio remained loyal despite the attempts of others to win his attention; he remained focused on the one he trusted the most.
This is a powerful reminder of the importance of discerning the right voice to listen to. In times of trouble and uncertainty, it is very easy to be swayed by the noise and distraction of the world, leading us to seek comfort and answers in places that ultimately leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled.
Just as Rio recognized and responded only to my voice, we are called to tune out the distractions and noises of the world that seek to lead us astray.
In our relationship with God, it is crucial to cultivate a discerning spirit that can distinguish His voice amidst the chaos of the world.
By staying attuned to His guidance and seeking solace in His presence, we can find true peace and security, knowing that we are always loved and protected in His care.
Now let's digress a little, shall we?
Let's talk about intimacy and desire for God.
Scripture sees a desire for God and intimacy with God as interconnected. Psalm 63 is a psalm of desire. The author of Psalm 63—David, wants us to see, among other things, that there remains an intimate relationship between one's desire and one's intimacy with God.
To enter into intimacy with someone – especially with God, requires that we be vulnerable to desiring that intimacy. Intimacy is impossible without true desire.
We are not only made for connection with God. We were created with the need for intimacy. We were designed to WANT God.
Part of being intimate with God is desiring Him with our entire being. Learning to desire God requires discipline and time. However, it also occurs when life does not provide us with what we desire.
When I think of awakening a desire for God, I've discovered that it usually happens when our desires for this world don't play out or yield the results we expected. Time and again, I've noticed that we tend to open ourselves up to desiring God when our cravings for the things of this world fail.. meanwhile, losing ourselves can be the beginning of finding ourselves in Christ. An injury to the soul becomes the resurrection of the spirit.
Who/what do you seek for?
Do you seek Him when things are not going smoothly for you? Or do you seek Him even in the good and bad times?
It's God's desire that we crave genuine intimacy with Him. Not just seek Him or desire Him for the Bread that He gives, but desire Him for the Bread that He is.
I hope this blesses you, and I hope you gained something from it.
Until Next week,
I look forward to reading from you.
Love,
Fayvourebirth.
This is a good one. And no 2 is very crucial. Just as I was telling my friends on Thursday that we are now in a very crucial period because as things are getting hard the devil will begin to look for ways to sway you out of the way of God. But we have to continuously trust in him and remember that if he didn't fail us before he won't fail us now.
INTIMACY! Gosh, this is the are of our Christain living that nobody wants to hear. Especially believers of this time, they want to get all the benefits from being intimate with God without actually being Intimate (lol.. I'm sure you understand).
Nobody wants to study the Bible, or pray for hours or be a reflection of Christ anymore, all the want to do now is just speak words of affirmations and scream to the world that they are Christians as if that is enough. Intimacy is beyond all that, intimacy is seeking to know him, having continuous hunger be in his presence and becoming a reflection of CHRIST. I think believer especially in this generation have forgotten that our sole purpose on earth IS "THAT WE MAY KNOW HIM AND MAKE HIM KNOW ". So called believers are not talking anyhow, acting anyhow, dressing like animals and will still tell you it's only in the heart but they forget that they are supposed to reflect Christ to the world.
Kai! This is honestly a cause for worry and for us believers to wake up and hold God firmly because the enemy is never at sleep.
May God help us all.
This was such a beautiful read.
It's the first thing I'm reading this morning and it brought so much peace and joy to my heart.
Thank you these reassuring words.
You stirred up a desire in me to love the Lord even more and go after Him.
Thank you for being a light.
