Hello people of my Laive 💓 Welcome back to our writing channel. Thank you so much for the love towards the launch of our first episode of The Hearty Conversation, trust me I do not take the love and support for granted. God bless you! Meanwhile I need same energy when the next episode drops 😉
Have you ever been labeled with demeaning or hurtful names that made you feel small, insignificant, or unworthy?
Growing up, I was called every kind of name because of my body (I was body shamed), but being called ugly wasn't part of them though #chuckles. I got called names like toothpick, broomstick, pankere(cane), sugarcane, iroko, etc. People will mock me, saying I'm too skinny and that I should always carry something heavy so the breeze won't carry me away. Wow!
Those mean words were like a hailstorm, pelting me with shame and self-doubt. It got so bad that I couldn't walk alone on the street. I must go out with someone, or I will beg someone to follow me out. If I had to walk alone and I noticed a gathering of people around, dearest person of my Laive, I would start running. School corridors became a battleground where every step felt like a struggle to survive. The constant taunts and teases made me feel like I was walking through a war zone with no armor to protect me.
Do you know the funny thing? I always respond to those names; what do I mean? I responded emotionally to those names because I'd cry, hide, and run (literally) from that hurt.
Not until one day, I stumbled upon a new mirror—God's mirror. And let me tell you, His reflection is a game-changer! As I gazed into His eyes, I saw a different person staring back at me. I saw a confident, worthy, and beloved child of God. I saw a unique, precious, and authentic gem, crafted with love and care.
God's mirror showed me that I am:
Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14)
A masterpiece, a work of art (Ephesians 2:10)
Loved, Chosen, and Enough (John 3:16, 1 Peter 2:9)
I am Abba's Fayvorite daughter.
Now, If you call me anything that doesn't sound like my name or anything that's not related to what Abba has called me; I won't answer you because that's not name.
As I embraced my true identity in God's eyes, something remarkable happened. Those mean words and hurtful labels lost their power. I no longer saw myself through the distorted lens of others' opinions. I started walking with purpose, holding my head high, and embracing my authentic self.
As children of God, our identity is rooted in Him. It's a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaning that transcends our earthly experiences. Our identity in God is the foundation upon which we build our lives, and it's the key to unlocking our true potential.
If you're struggling with finding your identity, remember that you are who God says you are, not what a mere mortal calls you or what the devil calls you.
"They say you're ugly, you are hopeless, you're a failure, you are good for nothing, and you answered???"
How dare you believe what a mere man has to say over what your creator says? Don't answer those names; that's not who you are. Don't let others' labels hurt you; rather, embrace what God calls you.
Embracing our identity in God sets us free from the constraints of this world. We no longer need to seek validation from others or find our worth in temporal things. And as you journey through life, remember that your identity in God is:
Unchanging: Despite circumstances or seasons, His love and purpose remain constant.
Unshakable: No matter what others say or do, your worth and value are secure in Him.
Eternal: Your identity in God extends far beyond this earthly life, into eternity.
It is important to know who you are, and I'm here to tell you that you are who God says you are—a unique, precious, and authentic gem! Don't let others define You. You are loved, you are enough, and you are worthy, no matter what others say. Embrace your true self in God's eyes, and shine your light for all to see!
My prayer for you is that, you'll find comfort, strength, and confidence in your identity with God. May His love and purpose be the foundation upon which you stand, and may you walk in the freedom and joy that come from knowing who you are in Him.
Bask in your new identity!
Love,
Fayvourebirth.
