Lately, I’ve been struggling to write. My head has been buzzing with ideas, little snippets of inspiration that I’m meant to jot down, but somehow didn’t. And guess what? Poof! They vanished. I spent too much time trying to recapture those lost gems and ended up writing... NOTHING. But hey, no point crying over spilled ink. Let’s dive into the updates you’ve been waiting for! You might’ve caught glimpses on my Social media story (yes, I’m guilty of teaser updates), but here’s the full scoop. Ready?
You know when someone asks, “What have you been up to lately?” and your brain suddenly goes blank? Like you’ve been on some secret mission in an underground bunker? That happened to me recently. A friend asked, and my go-to response was, “Oh, nothing much.” But as the words left my mouth, a little voice in my head shouted, “Wait a minute! You’ve been doing THINGS! Living life! Thriving, even!” That realization sparked something in me, and here I am, spilling the tea.
Speaking of that awkward blank-out moment, doesn’t it make you reflect on how easily we dismiss our own progress? We downplay our efforts, brush aside our wins, and focus on what’s next. But sometimes, it’s important to pause, take stock, and give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. So here I am, practicing what I preach, sharing not just my wins but also the lessons and detours along the way.
Now Picture this: You’re learning to trust that everything will work out for your good. You’re starting to believe the answers lie within you. You’re moving forward, growing, and upskilling. That’s been my 2024 so far — a whirlwind of growth, answered prayers, and personal breakthroughs.
Guess what? I’ve been counting my blessings lately, and I just have to say— God has been SO good to me! It’s been a truly humbling experience, and I’m reminded that God is always working, even when we can’t see it.
I want to encourage you, dearest people of my life, that God is writing a unique story just for YOU. It may not be the story you want, and it may not be in the timing you want, but trust me, He is not leaving you behind. You know what’s amazing? The way God turns pain into peace. It’s like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders, and you can finally breathe again.
So, as we step into this new season, remember that God is good, and He is always helping us. Even when we can’t see it, He is working behind the scenes to bring us to a place of peace and prosperity.
From September to now, these months have been a roller-coaster of joy and transformation. I’m living in my answered prayers! Things are finally aligning, and I’ve seen so much improvement in myself. I’m more self-aware, genuinely happy for others’ successes, and constantly inspired by people who are chasing greatness. I’ve even adopted tiny habits from those who inspire me. It’s all about learning and growing.
The Journey So Far
Let’s rewind a bit. Since the start of the year, I’ve been working hard on myself, trying new things, and pushing boundaries. Some of you know about my job-hunting saga since graduating. Let’s just say it’s been a bumpy ride. Like many others navigating life in Nigeria, I’ve had to juggle reality and dreams. But I never gave up.
In August, I took a leap and joined the Ladies in Tech Africa program to study project management. It was a two-month adventure that changed everything. I gained knowledge, met incredible women, and found a renewed drive to succeed. It wasn’t just about the technical skills; it was about seeing what’s possible when women support each other and believe in their potential. Those two months reignited my confidence and gave me tools to take on bigger challenges.
In September, I got my hands on a sleek, shiny new laptop, and let me tell you—it’s the slickest thing I owned this year. Huge shoutout to my amazing friend for not just hyping me up but also helping me snag this beauty from the market. Babyyyy, this laptop has been a total game-changer!
From the moment I powered this on, life got so much easier. Learning? Smooth as butter. Projects? A breeze. It’s like this laptop handed me a golden ticket to productivity-ville. With my trusty tech buddy, I dived straight into project management, joined vibrant online communities, and started networking with professionals in the field. The momentum? Oh, it was building alright!
Honestly, who knew that something as simple as a gadget could feel like a pair of wings, ready to lift me into uncharted skies? Sometimes, the right tool comes along at just the right time—and this one? Chef’s kiss!
Then October rolled in with a life-changing email: I’d been accepted into the West Africa Vocational Education: WAVE Academy in partnership with Zendesk to study Customer Relationship Management (CRM). #happy dance!
By November, I packed my bags, left my parents’ house, and started a new chapter of my life. I thought I was leaving for a one-month training, but spoiler alert: God had bigger plans. (Stay tuned for this gist in my next post!)
Moving away from home was a big step for me. It came with its own set of challenges and growth opportunities. I had to learn to navigate a new environment, meet new people, and adapt to a demanding schedule. But every step of the way, I felt like I was stepping into a version of myself that I’d only dreamed of before. The journey was just beginning.
The Zendesk Chapter
Wave Academy was no walk in the park. Classes ran Monday through Friday, and I had to be sharp, focused, and ready to learn. It was intense, but oh-so-worth it. I soaked up knowledge, made friends, and got a crash course in CRM. Then came the big test: the Zendesk Agent Exam. Guess what? I nailed it! I’m officially a Zendesk Omni-Channel Specialist Agent.
Earning this certification was more than just a milestone; it was a validation of all the late nights, early mornings, and moments of doubt. It reminded me that when you put in the work, the results will follow. But beyond the certification, it was the connections I made and the experiences I had that truly stood out. The Wave Academy wasn’t just a training program; it was a transformative experience.
Looking back right now, I’m filled with gratitude and pride. This year has been a testament to resilience and hard work. I’ve fought hard to swim against the tides, and I’m winning.
